Accessibility Strategy
Introduction
Improving Access to Education
contains a range of information and advice which will support all schools
to comply with disability/additional support needs legislation. It aims
to:
.
• further develop inclusive practice
• raise awareness of issues surrounding
the inclusive education of pupils with additional support needs
• offer advice on how to avoid
unlawful discrimination
• suggest teaching strategies
based on current best practice
• inform about Aberdeenshire’s
Accessibility Strategy
.
Aberdeenshire’s Accessibility
Strategy plans to improve access to education in three areas:
.
• the physical environment of
schools and transport
• all aspects of the school curriculum
• school information and communication
.
For more detailed information
on the Strategy, refer to section 2.
Improving Access to Education
should be used in conjunction with Guidelines and Information to Support
Inclusion which provides important information on how to support pupils
with additional support needs in Aberdeenshire schools.
.
