Aims: 

•  To explore the concept of inclusion and related values and principles and their implications for developing policy and practice in schools and communities

•  To apply this, and the requirements of current legislation and A Curriculum for Excellence to a critical review of policy and practice

•  To examine the importance of collaborative practice and integrated assessment in getting it right for every child (GIRFEC)

•  To consider the perspective and entitlements of parents/carers, children and young people

•  To test and apply a framework for auditing education for all and to use this to undertake a review of an aspect of current provision in the participants' own context

•  To draw on the outcomes of audit and review to inform improvement planning and the celebration of success

Target Personnel:

Personnel within community school networks with a management responsibility for children, young people and families, e.g. Quality Improvement officers, Head Teachers, Deputes and Principal Teachers, and managers from social work, allied health services, leisure and community learning and development. Wherever possible participants are encouraged to attend as teams.
