Aims: 

•  To explore the concept of inclusion and related values, principles and legislation and their implications for developing policy classroom practice

•  To apply this, within the context of A Curriculum for Excellence to a critical review of current practice

•  To examine a range of curriculum strategies and their significance in addressing the range of learning needs

•  To identify features of good practice in inclusive classrooms

•  To examine the importance of collaborative practice and integrated assessment in getting it right for every child (GIRFEC) – using the assessment triangle

•  To consider the perspective and entitlements of parents/carers, children and young people

•  To test and apply a framework for audit and to use this to undertake a review of practice in the participants' own context

•  To draw on the outcomes of this review to inform action planning and the celebration of success
