'Creative Connections'
Taking Learning Outdoors
Island of Eigg
25th July - 1st August
£250
Supported by RSPB Scotland
EcoSchools and the SpeyGrian Educational Trust are running a course on
creativity & outdoor learning on the Island of Eigg from the 25th
July to 1st August (see attached flier and websites www.speygrian.org.uk
& www.ecoschoolsscotland.org ). Facilitators will be poet Gerry Cambridge
(www.gerrycambridge.com ), craftworker Jan Kilpatrick (www.wildtiles.co.uk
), ecologist & writer Kenny Taylor and myself.
The course is open to all teachers (nursery, primary and secondary across
disciplines) plus anyone who works with young people, including those
who work in the informal sector.
The cost this year is just £250 which I hope you'll agree is really
good value, when you consider that this covers food (organic, local &
fair trade), accommodation for seven nights plus workshop fees.
I know budgets are tight this year but feedback from the course has always
been overwhelmingly positive, and there is no doubt that it can have a
significant (sometimes profound) effect at both professional and personal
levels (see attached evaluations from recent OSCR returns).
