Proposed Training Opportunity

November 2009

 

‘Supporting a child with an acquired brain injury at school'

 

 

‘More than 20,000 children are likely to acquire a brain injury every year in the UK . Children are likely to return to school having ‘recovered', and will commonly look the same as they did before. Unbeknown to teaching staff, children with an acquired brain injury will usually have very subtle and often specific educational needs'.

Child Brain Injury Trust (CBIT)

 

This training opportunity is relevant to all teaching and support staff in Primary and Secondary schools and will give the opportunity to learn more about and experience the problems faced by young people with an acquired brain injury.

 

It is proposed that this event will take place on a Saturday ( 10am-3pm ) in November at Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital. This will be a low cost event subsidised and supported by CBIT and RACH Head Injury Interest Group.
