Aberdeenshire
is committed to the ‘Wiredshire’ which is an extensive expansion
of information and communications infrastructure across the
authority.
The
'Wiredshire' initiative has put all of the Authority's schools
on-line. Internet provider subscriptions, e-mail addresses,
web publishing space, modems / routers, dedicated phone or ISDN
lines and where necessary new PCs were purchased for all of
Aberdeenshire's schools

All
of the programmes are interdependent, all of the programmes
in some way will enhance the ICT capability
of the total authority, all of the programmes are intended to
be inclusive and comprehensive – all sectors will during the
lifetime on the funding initiative be directly or indirectly
supported – NGFL participation and inclusion is available for
all those who wish it.
